STUNNING LANDSCAPES
Napa Lake
A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Napa Lake is a vast expanse of lake and grassland, and a sanctuary for migratory birds. Located between the rolling emerald hills of Shangri-la, the exquisite lake mirrors the skies above. During the dryer months when the waters recede and the grasslands appear, Napa Lake is dotted with grazing horses and yak for as far as the eye can see.
The endangered Black-Necked Cranes are one of the 12 rarest birds in the world, and the majority of the remaining population spend their winters in Shangri-la. One of the best places to see them is in Napa Lake Nature Reserve -- a short drive away from The Hidden Valley Resort.
Potatso National Park
The Potatso National Park, an hour’s drive from the resort, is renowned for its well-preserved picturesque landscape. It is endowed with lakes, wetlands, forests, meadows, streams, brooks, rare plants, and animals.
As the first national park on mainland China, Potatso was opened to visitors in 2007. In the park, guests get to visit the Shudu Lake which is a part of Three Parallel Rivers Scenic Area.
